Joshua Jefferis

Master of Physiotherapy
Bachelor of Exercise Science

Joshua joined us in 2014, after completing his post graduate physiotherapy studies at the University of Qld. He brings a wealth of experience to the clinic. He understands athlete and patient needs - not only through his studies, but also from his years as an elite athlete (20yrs).

Joshua was for many years (until the end of 2013) on the Australian Men’s Artistic Gymnastics Team. He was a proud member of the team at the last 2 Commonwealth Games (and gold medallist!) and has competed at many World Championships. The highlight of Joshua’s career came in 2012, when he competed at the London Olympics.

A key reason for Joshua joining the Clem Jones clinic was to work with experienced practitioners and extensive facilities to develop professionally, and hone his ability to help all clients

Josh has attended the last 2 Artistic Gymnastics Nationals as a Qld Team Physiotherapist (2014-15).

Josh is combining his physiotherapy career with gymnastics coaching.

Special Interests;

  • Shoulder and upper limb injuries and rehabilitation
  • Adolescent injury management
  • Post-op rehabilitation
  • Neck and back pain

Joshua spent 5 years as an athlete at the AIS, and many more years at the QAS. In that time he has worked closely with very experienced Sports Physiotherapists, Coaches and Conditioning professionals. This experience has influenced his physiotherapy management – underlining the importance of effective communication and evidenced based approaches to rehabilitation to achieve the best outcomes for clients.
